The Addicted Gambler - Eastern Iowa Center for Problem Gambling, Inc., bases its gambling treatment program on the reality that the compulsive or problem gambler is addicted to gambling. There is a compelling need for him or her to wager or, "be in action", as many compulsive gamblers themselves describe their addiction. Thus family, friends, employment, hobbies, finances and self esteem all become secondary to the next bet, the next big chance, or the next game. "The cardinal features of compulsive |
